Preface

Throughout the decade since I wrote my first dream dictionary, readership feedback has been eye-opening. Not only was the volume eagerly received, readers cried for more. They asked for a larger dream guide which included their own list of words that I had overlooked. And, as the years passed, the list of words people wanted interpretations for grew longer. Clearly, these lists proved that every single thing we encounter, see, experience, touch, or have even a rudimentary knowledge of can become critical elements appearing in dreams. No object, obviously, is too outlandish, rare, or ridiculous to include. ?I dreamed of the Tinman in the Wizard of Oz,? one correspondent wrote. ?What does the Tinman mean?? Therefore, dream interpretation books should fully embrace as many elements of our world as possible. Otherwise, the reference volume remains incomplete and falls short of adequately providing the questing dreamer with the required tools for arriving at insightful interpretations.
A well-rounded interpretation can?t be gained if key pieces are missing from the puzzle. And some of a dream?s most revealing elements are depicted on the smallest puzzle fragment. Every piece holds a clue. Every symbolic piece plays an integral part in serving the whole message. Every piece, no matter how small or insignificant it may initially appear, is in the dream for a purpose and requires our attention. Every piece refines the clarity of the dream?s overall message.
Keeping the above facts in mind, and realizing that our world?s vocabulary has grown by leaps and bounds with the technology explosion and other contributing factors such as recently popularized slang, I?ve included these new terms for the purpose of providing a more comprehensive volume of dream symbols. This, then, is a completely new volume which embraces a current view of our daily realm of experience. This, then, is warmly offered as a helpful tool for gleaning optimum insights found nowhere other than . . . in your dreams.
