PASSPORT TO NARNIA – A NEWCOMER’S GUIDE

So, you’re all excited about going to see The Chronicles of Narnia:  The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, which opens in theaters Friday, but maybe you don’t know much about C.S. Lewis’s magical world.

First off, KidsPost advises you to read all seven Chronicles books, starting with The Magician’s Nephew, the first in the series.  (The much more famous The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is the second book in the series.)

Since you might not be able to read all the books before seeing the movie, this guide (by the same author who has written guides to the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings books) is a good way to get up to speed if, for example, you don’t know the significance of a lamppost in the middle of a snowy forest.

The guide has short chapters and is well-organized, so if questions occur to you after reading (or watching), you will be able to find the answers quickly.  Our favorite:  Where can you get Turkish Delight!
