I am a devout fan of the sky-writer. I have read all of Bach's books several times, and as anyone else who has, I know that he challenges his readers constantly. No Bach book is merely ink on pages. He transcends philosophy, science, and literature. I began with JLS and proceeded tentatively to Illusions because of the word Messiah in the title. I opened Illusions with apprehension but was hooked by the end of the handwritten first chapter. By the end of Illusions, there was no turning back. I devoured his other books until... The Ferret Chronicles. I knew that Bach, as others so often do with fame and success, had finally lost it. Ferrets? The teeth of his creative gears had finally been shorn and were freewheeling, about to burst into deadly flying shards. Braving this danger, I bought The Last War. To my utter amazement, I found that not only had Bach not lost his mind, but he had found in The Ferret Chronicles the culmination of all his other works combined. I am not an emotional man, but I have never read a Bach book without tearing up. There is an unparalleled beauty there. He strips all pretense from life and presents Truth in all its perfect glory. I am thrilled just to be able to appreciate it. Buy it without hesitation.
