Unlike the 2nd reviewer, I was never necessarily a big "fan" of Bach's, although I'd read JLS in high school. Now, much older, & a ferret owner, I anticipated The Ferret Chronicles anxiously, just knowing they'd be wonderful. And they were. I have all 5 of his original books, my favorite being The Last War: Detective Ferrets & the Case of the Golden Deed (which is the first "book" in Curious Lives), about Shamrock Ferret). The timing of the release of the original book makes me wonder if it was his response to 9/11.
At any rate - If Mr Bach is reading this, please, Please, PLEASE give us more!! I read an interview w/ you in one of the ferret magazines not long before the first volume came out, & I recall you saying you had many, many stories to tell about the characters in your ferret world. Those of us who are ferret owners are interested in reading more, yes - but I've also read these stories to my kids (who, BTW, have only been in the US for 3.5 yrs, adopted from Kazakhstan). They've learned so much from these stories. It's not about the ferrets - it's about the ideas of curiosity, consideration for others, & living your life to your "highest right". This would be true if these stories were about ferrets, centipedes, or humans.
Please, Mr Bach - let the world you've created continue. Please publish more of your stories. So many people I know are anxious to read, & learn, more. And thank you.
