     Hampton Roads Publishing Company is pleased to announce the release of internationally recognized children’s author/illustrator Hans Wilhelm’s latest picture book, All for the Best.  In the timeless tradition of Aesop and Hans Christian Andersen, All for the Best, is a story that will charm parents and children alike. The whimsical watercolors lay foundation to a story that is enlightening and entertaining, but never preachy. 

     The most popular of Wilhelm’s book series include Dinofours, Bunny Trouble and Waldo.  In addition to his tremendous success as an illustrator, Wilhelm has also created more than 80 television shows based on his own books and characters. Hans’ latest TV series is called WALDO’S WAY and is now shown worldwide in countries that include Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Hungary, Iceland, Russia, South Africa, Philippines, Malaysia, Brazil and the Middle East.


     An international speaker for 20 years, Wilhelm has appeared on national television and radio shows and has been a guest lecturer at numerous schools and colleges. He begins his lectures with a demonstration on the creation of a book from its inception to the finished product, emphasizing the importance of the writing and illustrating process.  Using a slide show, he gives examples of his most recent work, and concludes the presentation with the students developing their own story, which he illustrates for them on huge sheets of paper.
Students are usually so captivated by the experience that they leave with a new enthusiasm for reading, writing and illustrating. Wilhelm says he hopes to inspire them to be writers themselves when they grow up.
