In December, 1943, Army private George Ritchie was pronounced dead and lay covered from head to toe for nine minutes. While others stood near his lifeless form, Ritchie traveled to another dimension and glimpsed God’s greater plan for humankind. Miraculously, Ritchie returned to his body, shocking everyone present. Recalling his experience, Ritchie speaks of meeting Jesus Christ, “a being that knew everything that I had ever done...and yet He totally accepted and loved me.” Once in contact with this being Ritchie did not want to leave the afterlife, but was returned to his body with the message “You have forty–five years.” His medical practice would become a channel to share this new divinely–inspired relationship. His first book, Return from Tomorrow, which sold over 200,000 copies, details the series of events that took place after Ritchie returned to his body. In Ordered to Return Ritchie briefly retells that experience and details stories of miraculous healing from his medical practice as a physician and a psychiatrist:
